Lucy Liu was born in the US. She is an American actor, singer and voice actor. She's a beautiful, skilled actress that has inspired many Asian actors to make it in Hollywood. Following a string of early performances in popular shows she achieved fame when she joined the crew of the cult comedy show Ally McBeal where she played the malicious Ling Woo. The actress took her initial fame into major screen roles in films such as Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. For Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino, she gave an impressive performance in the role of Japanese crime lord O-Ren Shii. At the same time she was also in box office failures, including Rise: Blood Hunter. In animated films like Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell and many others, she voiced prominent characters. The small screen role of Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia didn't yield any positive results. Southland, the critically-acclaimed drama police drama that Liu starred regularly and allowed her to be a famous as an actor. Liu carefully selects roles so that she doesn't get stereotyped in a field which is extremely competitive. While she's been embracing the roots of her family, she hasn't let it restrict her artistic abilities.
